Carrie Lynn Heeren, age 58 of Joplin, passed away at Mercy Hospital at 10:07 p.m. on May 30, 2015.
Born November 18, 1956 in Fairchild, Washington, she was the daughter of Arvle Wayne Goodman and the late Sheryl Enz Goodman and had lived in the Joplin area since 1999, moving from Colorado. Carrie was raised in California and lived there most of her lifetime. She worked many jobs and had a passion for cooking. She was a Christian.
She married Jeffrey Kevin Heeren on November 10, 1984 in Truckee, CA. He preceded her in death on December 30, 2013.
Survivors include a daughter, Amanda Heeren and spouse Kayla of Joplin; a son, Jayson Whaley of Joplin; her father, Wayne Goodman of Spokane, WA; a brother, Mitchell Albert and wife Cathy of Joplin; a sister, Shawnette Elliott of Broken Arrow, OK; five grandchildren, Ian, Avery, Kyrsten, Dustin and Kaylynn; four nephews and one niece.
Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Four State Cremation.

Nina Smith
Nina Lee Smith, age 79 of Joplin, passed away at 8:56 a.m. on Sunday, May 31, 2015 at her home, surrounded by her family.
Born September 22, 1935 in Louisburg, KS, she was the daughter of the late Ersel (Curly) Mapes and Mary Genevieve Smith Mapes and had lived in Joplin most of her lifetime. A devoted homemaker and mother, she had also worked at the former Pacific-Mercury, Macy's and Christman's Department Stores, Lewis Motor Supply, Southtown Cleaners and Howsmon's Office Products. She was a member of Fairview Baptist Church.
On August 3, 1957, she married Neil Smith in Joplin. He survives.
Additional survivors include two daughters, Carolyn Smith and Mark Shiner of Republic, MO, Debrah Ward and husband Bryan of Kansas City, MO; a son, Neil Smith, Jr. and wife Rhonda of Odessa, MO; three sisters, Eva Jean Mayfield of Greenfield, MO, Erselene Hamlin of Joplin, Nancy Jones and husband William of McPherson, KS; seven grandchildren, Erin Cartwright and Jacob, Monica Reid and Jared, Tara Duke and Chris, Brandi Patrick and Chris, Jennifer Box and Andy, Christopher Ward and Heather, William Endicott and Ashley; 15 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Maxine Jeffers and her husband Bruce; and brother-in-law, Jack Mayfield.
Funeral services will be held 10:30 a.m. Wednesday with viewing preceding at 9:30 a.m. at Fairview Baptist Church with Rev. Josh Branham officiating. Interment will follow at Ozark Memorial Park Cemetery. Grandsons serving as pallbearers will be William Endicott, Chris Ward, Jacob Cartwright, Andy Box, Jared Reid, Chris Duke and Chris Patrick. The family will receive friends at Parker Mortuary on Tuesday from 6:00 to 7:30 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to Fairview Baptist Church, in care of the mortuary.
Betty Pierson
Betty Jean Malone Pierson, age 88 of Joplin, passed away peacefully at 5:15 p.m. on Saturday, May 30, 2015 at the home of her daughter, surrounded by her loving family.
Born March 8, 1927 in Joplin, she was the daughter of the late Harrison Malone and Anna Belle Martin Malone and was a lifetime Joplin resident. Betty worked in retail music sales, loved nature, gardening, fishing, traveling, dogs and most of all spending time with her family. She was a Christian.
On June 5, 1957 she married William F. Pierson at Miami, OK. He preceded her in death on September 12, 2009. She was also preceded by three brothers, Raymond, Carl and Harold Malone; three sisters, Hazel Fannin, Colleen Shoemaker and Ilene Cole; an infant daughter, Martha Ann; and a grandson, Christopher Ward.
Survivors include two daughters, Sandy Ward Dubry of Joplin; Christine Smith and husband Steve of Webb City; her brother, Gene Malone and wife Wanda of Liberty, MO; seven grandchildren, Rusty Smith and wife Vanessa, Jodi Mouton and husband Paul, Kari Wilcox and husband Jim, Margaret Prince and husband Rusty, Sam Smith and wife Katie, Chad Ward, Casey Ward Berges and husband Jeff; 24 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-granddaughter.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Friday at the Red Door Barn, 9164 State Hwy. 43 in Webb City with Scott Sprouse officiating. Visitation will precede the service beginning at 10:00 a.m. Entombment will in Ozark Memorial Park Mausoleum. Family serving as pallbearers will be Steve Smith, Chad Ward, Jim Wilcox, Paul Mouton, Sam Smith and Dennis Hoagland. Arrangements are under the direction of Parker Mortuary.
Faye Gary
Faye Ileen Gary, age 83, Joplin, passed away at 7:36 p.m. Monday, June 1, 2015 at her home with her family by her side.
Ileen was born July 8, 1931 in Leavenworth, Kansas to the late James Leslie Coffey and Celia Agnes Casper Coffey and had lived in the Joplin area since 1957.
She worked as director the Joplin Kidney Foundation and served as director for Up John Home Health Care for several years. Following retirement, she and her husband relocated to Grand Lake where she served as president of the Elk Ladies #2715, Grove, Oklahoma. She was also a member of Villa Heights Christian Church.
She married George N. Gary on July 4, 1950 in Rich Hill, Missouri. He survives at the home.
Additional survivors include two daughters, Diana Lee Hulstine, Joplin, Denise Lynn Patterson and her husband, Loyd, Carl Junction; three grandchildren, Nicholas Patterson and his wife, Crystal, Nathan Scott Gary, Emily Patterson; one great granddaughter, Elisabeth Truelove; and one sister, Rosemary Carsten, Nevada, Missouri.
In addition to her parents, Ileen was preceded in death by a son, George Randall Gary; a daughter, Vicki I. Gary; and her siblings, Lloyd, Leonard, Richard, Larry, Don, Dorothy, Robert and Margie.
A memorial service is planned for Friday at 1:30 p.m. at Parker Mortuary Chapel. Johnnie Adkins, Minister, will officiate. The family will receive friends following the services at the mortuary.

Eric Winemiller
Eric Bradley Winemiller, 22 of Joplin passed away unexpectedly Sunday May 31, 2015 in Joplin, MO.
Eric was born July 7, 1992 in Clinton, OK to Mark and Amy Winemiller. Eric graduated from Carthage High School and had just graduated with a B.A. at Missouri Southern State University and had just begun his career as a draftsman at Leggett and Platt. Eric enjoyed video gaming with his brother Alex, photography, cooking and spending time with his family and friends.
Eric is survived by his parents, one brother Alex Winemiller, his girlfriend Elizabeth “Ginger” Burken, grandparents Jerry Winemiller of Illinois, Maureen and Tom Smee of Texas, Great grandparents Laverne Winemiller of Illinois, aunt Debra Winemiller of IL, Michael Winemiller of TX, Uncle Christopher and Beverly Mullen, Uncle Marcus and Angela Mullen, Uncle Todd and Catherine Mullen, and many cousins.
Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday June 5, 2015 at the First United Methodist Church of Carthage. Following will be a private graveside service. Contributions can be made to the Midwest Transplant Network in Care of Ulmer Funeral Home. Online condolences can be made at www.ulmerfh.com.

Robert Burnett
Robert Edward (Bernie) Burnett, age 69 of Joplin, passed away at 5:38 p.m. on Monday, June 1, 2015 peacefully at his home.
Born January 31, 1946 in Joplin, he was the only child of the late Howard and Twyla Trease Burnett and was a lifelong resident of Joplin. Bob graduated from Joplin High School and served in the U.S. Army Reserve. He worked at Bob Massey Music and for Peterbilt in Joplin before retiring. He was a Christian. He loved his family and friends, playing golf and his red Chevy convertible. He was a member of Eagle Creek Golf and Country Club and Joplin Elk's Lodge No. 501.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Sharon Burnett on February 14, 2003 and a son, Todd Robert Burnett on February 11, 2002.
Survivors include two daughters, Tracy Kunkel of Overland Park, KS, Tiffany Speake and husband Steven of Leawood, KS; five grandchildren, Samantha and Hunter Burnett, Tyler, Kaytlyn and Foster Kunkel; and his companion of recent years, Judy Turner.
Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Parker Mortuary. A Celebration of Life gathering will be held from 5:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Thursday at his home, 3409 S. Poplar, in Joplin. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Joplin Humane Society, Joplin Golf Foundation's Junior Golf Program, or a charity of the donor's choice, in care of Parker Mortuary.
Michael Anderson
Michael Alan Anderson, age 55 of Joplin, passed away at 3:22 p.m. Monday, June 1, 2015 at Mercy Hospital after a long illness.
Born March 5, 1960, he was a 1978 graduate of Carthage High School and was a lifetime Joplin area resident. He began working for his family's business, Anderson's Car and Tractor, as a young man and served as salesman and general manager until 2013, when his health prevented him from continuing.
On October 8, 1982, he married Debra L. Peterson of Joplin. She survives. Additional survivors include two sons, Cody J. Anderson of the home, Dalton W. Anderson of Joplin; one grandson, Deacon; his parents, Don and Patricia (Shaw)Anderson of Joplin; his brother, Jim Anderson and Marty Enfield of Carthage, MO; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Parker Mortuary. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. Thursday at the mortuary.
