Gary B. Merryman, Jr., was born April 23, 1962 in Kansas City, Missouri and entered into rest on April 10, 2017 in Joplin, following a lengthy illness at the age of 54.
Gary moved to Neosho in January of 1971 from Kansas City, Missouri and graduated from Neosho High School in 1980. He had worked as a die setter at Sunbeam, as a brick mason and doing carpentry work. He was an avid fan of the Kansas City Chiefs and enjoyed woodworking and working on old cars. He was a member of the West 60 Highway Church of Christ.
Gary is survived by his fiance, Jeanette Ayala of Neosho; his mother, Jackie Fahnestock of Neosho; his father, Gary B. Merryman, Sr. of Concordia, MO; three daughters, Danielle Merryman of Hot Springs, AR; Paige Merryman of Denver, CO and Nichole Ellis of New Mexico; one granddaughter, Gabby and two brothers, Tim Merryman and Danny Merryman, both of Neosho.
Graveside services will be held on Tuesday, April 18, 2017 at 10 am at the Granby Memorial Cemetery, Roger Owen will officiate. The family will receive friends at a time of visitation on Monday evening from 6 to 7 pm at the Clark Funeral Home, Neosho. A memorial fund has been established to assist with funeral expenses at the Clark Funeral Home, PO Box 66, Neosho, MO 64850.
