Willis Cantrell

Willis D. Cantrell, age 87, of Joplin passed away at his home on Wednesday, April 5, 2017. 

He was born on January 5, 1930 in Olmitz, Kansas to Edgar D. Cantrell and Jettie (Baker) Cantrell. Willis was a member of the First Baptist Church of Webb City and retired from KPL Gas Company where he was a service man. 

He married Geraldine (Hadley) Cantrell on December 16, 1955 in Joplin, Missouri and she survives him at home. Willis is also survived by his sons, David Cantrell of Boise, Idaho, Matthew Cantrell of Pierce City, Missouri; daughters, Sherri Collier and husband Jerry of Belton, Missouri, Dottie Rhodes and husband Wesley of Joplin; 10 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren; and a sister, Norma Hopper of Granby, Missouri. He was preceded in death six brothers. 

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, April 11, 2017 at 1:00 PM in the chapel of Simpson Funeral Home in Webb City with Reverend Ron Woody officiating. The family will be present for a visitation on Monday, from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the funeral home. Burial will be in Ozark Memorial Park Cemetery.
