Glenda Hawkins

Glenda Jane Hawkins was born August 23, 1946 in Carthage, Missouri, the daughter of Leah (Overstreet) Bentley. She entered into rest on April 15, 2017 in Joplin, Missouri at the age of 70. 

Glenda was a lifelong area resident and graduated from Midway High School in 1964. She had worked as the head cook of the East Newton School District, Granby campus. 

 Glenda married Joe Hawkins and he preceded her in death in 1995. She is survived by two daughters, Tammy Bittick and husband, Danny of Pierce City and Kelly Lawson of Granby; four grandchildren, Danielle, Skylar, Taylor and Garrett and one sister, Jeanette Gripka and husband, Gene of Pierce City. In addition to her mother and husband, Glenda is preceded in death by a son, Johnnie Lawson. 

 Graveside services will be held Wednesday, April 19, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. at the Newtonia IOOF Cemetery with J.R. Burr officiating.

Services are under the direction of Clark Funeral Home, Neosho, MO.
