Vivian Haas

Vivian Haas, 86 years, of Southwest City, Missouri departed this life on Monday, April 3, 2017 at Joplin Gardens in Joplin, Missouri.

She was born on April 9, 1930 in Joplin, Missouri, to the late Martin and May (Harp) Grissom. Vivian married Warren Haas on June 30, 1947 in Goodland, Kansas and to this union two children were born. She farmed with her husband on their farm in Southwest City, Missouri, taking care of chickens and dairy cattle. Vivian really enjoyed quilting, sewing and crocheting. She was a faithful member of the Cove Mission of Hope in Lanagan, Missouri.

Vivian was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Warren Haas; son and daughter-in-law, Gary and Linda Haas; a son-in-law, Frank Rook; a granddaughter, Cathy Byus; two sisters, Irene and Nadine; a brother, Gene.

She is survived by her daughter, Linda Rook of Joplin, Missouri; a brother, Ernie Grissom of Ozark, Missouri; a sister, Erma Patrick and husband, Jay Dee of Carthage, Missouri; a great grandson, James; several nieces and nephews; along with a host of other relatives and friends who will dearly miss Vivian.

Funeral service for Vivian will be held at 2:00 pm on Thursday, April 6, 2017 in the Anderson Chapel of the Ozark Funeral Home. Reverend Bob Cartwright will officiate. Burial will follow the service at the Anderson cemetery in Anderson, Missouri. Visitation will be held from 1:00 pm to service time at the Anderson Chapel of the Ozark Funeral Home on Thursday, April 6, 2017. The family will receive friends at this time.
