Richard L. Givens, 78, Carthage, MO, passed away Monday morning, April 17, 2017 at Freeman West Hospital, Joplin, MO. Richard Lee Givens was born September 11, 1938 in Graybull, WY to Roy David Givens and Josephine (Harris) Givens. Richard was a graduate of Granby High School, Class of 1956. He continued his education at Southwest Texas State University where he earned his Bachelor’s Degree. Richard served in the United States Air Force during the Vietnam War from 1956-1960. He worked in Law Enforcement before retiring.
Survivors include; one daughter, Susan Larchart, two sons; Kevin Givens and Jeffrey Givens, one sister; Betty Nagel, one brother; David Givens, and six grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his parents.
