Leta Ware

Leta Ware, 89, passed away Tuesday, April 18, 2017 at her home. Leta was born January 15, 1928 in Lawton County, Kansas to Charles Bishop and Maude “Brown” Bishop. She was a Carthage High School graduate and lifetime resident of Carthage. She worked at Big Smith 

Manufacturing and Fair Acres Nursing Home and was a devoted member of Bethel United Methodist Church in Carthage.

Leta was united in marriage to Morris Ware on December 20, 1946 in Columbus, Kansas; he preceded her in death on January 22, 1972.

Leta is survived by one daughter Evelyn Ware of the home, one son Charles Ware of Lakeland, Florida, one brother Orval Bishop and wife Rhudell of Carthage, four grandchildren: Tina Walker, Carrie Hobbs, Amy Jones and David Jones, and nine great grandchildren: Tori Walker, Ardrea Walker, Brian Walker, Elissa Smith,Mariah Manka, Codie Palmer, Katelyn Palmer, Gage Jones, and Laura Jones, and three great-great grandchildren: Ayden Walker, Brooklyn Yardley, and Bentley Walker.

Leta was preceded in death by her husband, parents, one daughter Joyce Maggard, one brother Chalmer Bishop and one sister Ruth Prime.

Graveside services were held Thursday, April 20, 2017 at Park Cemetery.

Arrangements are under the direction of Ulmer Funeral Home.
