John Dragoo

John Richard Dragoo of Seneca passed away at the age of 80 on June 18th, 2018 at Joplin Gardens Nursing Home after a short illness. John was born in Paducah, Kentucky on April 16, 1938 to John Morgan and Verna Catherine Dragoo. He graduated from Seneca High School with the Class of 1956, he also attended Joplin Junior College. He was baptized in the Seneca Christian Church in the early 1950's.

John married the love of his life, Linda S. Williams in Seneca on May 23, 1959. His first love was for his wife and 3 boys. He also loved fishing, hunting, golfing, bowling and square dancing.

John and Linda moved to Dallas, TX where he worked for Cables Milk Company and Metropolitan Life Insurance Company. When they moved back to the Seneca area John worked with his father in Dragoo Plumbing & Heating. John was a former Assistant Fire Chief for the Seneca Volunteer Fire Department and also worked as a former Reserve Police Officer for the City of Seneca. He later worked for Newton County Sheriff's Department as a Reserve Deputy.

John is survived by his wife, Linda of 59 years. 3 Sons, Morris and his wife Raeanne of Seneca; Steven and his wife Denise of Webb City and Jeffery and his wife Michelle of Neosho. He is also survived by 6 grandchildren along with 6 great grandchildren. His sisters: Joan Kellenberger and husband Gene of Tulsa, OK and Suzanne Kelly and husband Joe of Seneca, MO and best friend Lee Kellenberger and wife Janice of Tyler, TX.

John was preceded in death by his parents John Morgan and Verna Catherine ( McCorkell ) Dragoo; his Step Mother, Lolita ( McCorkell ) Dragoo and one Grandson Cody Dragoo.

There will be a memorial service at 1:00 PM, Saturday, June 23, 2018 at the Seneca Christian Church with Truman Brady presiding. His body has been taken for cremation with interment at a later date.
In lieu of flowers contributions can be made to Joplin Gardens Nursing Home in care of Campbell Biddlecome Funeral Home, PO Box 380 Seneca, Mo.
