Linda Sue Searle, age 77, Joplin, passed away at 5:16 a.m. Monday, June 4, 2018 at her home.
Linda was born January 29, 1941 in Baldwin, Mississippi to the late Clyde Alexander Nichols and Christine Palmer Nichols and had lived in Joplin most of her life.
Linda was the co-owner of WMBH 1450 Radio for many years, retiring in 1982. She also worked in administration for the American Red Cross in both Joplin and Coffeyville, Kansas and owned and operated Four State Vacuum in Joplin for several years.
She enjoyed running, yoga, gardening, remodeling her home, sewing and reading all kinds of books, especially her Bible. Linda was a past member of Calvary Baptist Church and attended Forest Park Baptist Church. She loved watching television evangelists and would sing along to all their hymns. Linda enjoyed her family and often shared stories of her childhood. She will be missed by all who knew her.
Linda married William Searle. He preceded her in death on March 28, 2007.
She was also preceded in death by a sister, Shirley Nichols.
Survivors include her children, Lesia Jarnagin, Webb City, Sonia Sears and husband, Scott, Stella, Roselynn Rust and husband, Charles, Boca Raton, Florida; two brothers, Jimmy Nichols and wife, Patsy, Whitesburg, Kentucky, Mike Nichols and wife, Sandy, Whitesburg, Kentucky; two sisters, Judy Penix, Truman, Arkansas, Marcia Ducker and Husband, Tom, Jonesboro, Arkansas; grandchildren, Kimball Rust, Sarah Hoover, Skyla Rush, Teshia Wilkerson, Caleb Jarnagin, Nicole Wright, Jarrad Largent, Alyssa Miller, Samuel Melton, Henry Silvey; eleven great grandchildren and several extended family members.
Graveside services are planned for Thursday at 11:00 a.m. at Osborne Memorial Cemetery. Rev. Jeff D. Martin will officiate. The family will receive friends Wednesday from 5-7:00 p.m. at Parker Mortuary.
