Margie Mitchell

Mrs. Margie Lou Mitchell, 89, of Anderson, Missouri, departed this life on Tuesday morning, June 5, 2018, at the McDonald County Living Center in Anderson, Missouri, after a recent decline in health.

Margie entered this life on October 1, 1928, in rural Goodman, Missouri, daughter of the late Loren and Morine (Krause) Eads. She was a lifelong area resident, growing up in rural McDonald County, and attending the May Community School. On April 19, 1951, she was united in marriage to Dewayne Mitchell and to this union three children were born. They lovingly raised their family on a farm west of Anderson. For eighteen years she was head cook with the McDonald County School District. After retirement she worked as a caregiver for several area residents. She enjoyed tending to her flowerbeds and spending time in her kitchen. She attended the Tri-City Community Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of fifty-five years, Dewayne Mitchell on February 15, 2007; a sister, Etta Mae Morris; and two brothers, Richard Eads and Doug Eads.

Margie is survived by her three children, Ronnie Mitchell and wife, Retha, of Anderson, Donnie Mitchell of Newtonia, Missouri and Tammie Schneider of Neosho; three grandchildren, Jeremy Mitchell, Adam Mitchell and Krystal O’Brien; six great grandchildren; two sisters, Martha Mitchell of Anderson and Loretta Taylor of Neosho; several nieces and nephews; as well as a host of other family and friends.

Funeral services for Mrs. Mitchell are 11:00 a.m. Monday, June 11, 2018, in the Anderson Chapel of the Ozark Funeral Homes with Pastors Ken Cowin and Mark Taylor officiating. Burial will follow in the Mitchell Cemetery. Those honoring her life by serving as pallbearers are Jeremy Mitchell, Adam Mitchell, Jeremy Elliott, Marion Mitchell, Ron Mitchell and Doran Mitchell. Larry Bonebrake and Roland “Woody” Woods will be serving as honorary pallbearers. The family will receive friends on Sunday afternoon from 2-4:00 p.m. in the funeral home chapel.
