(From Derfelt Funeral Home) Shirley Dee Reed, age 78 of Webb City, MO, passed away at 8:47 AM on Monday, September 7, 2020 at Freeman West Hospital in Joplin.
Shirley was born in Cabool, MO on May 19, 1942 to Imogene “Gene” Singletary. She had lived in Tucson, AZ for nearly 30 years before coming to the Joplin area in the late 2010’s to be closer to family. Shirley loved and was loved by all animals, and she was talented at drawing.
She was preceded in death by her parents; one daughter, Shirley; one daughter-in-law, Tammy Patterson; and one infant brother.
Survivors include one son, Alvin S. Patterson; two daughters, Vivian Kelley (husband, Rick Wheeler) of Oklahoma City, OK, and Kathy Dukes of Carl Junction, MO; three sisters, Dixie Bullington (husband, Gary) of rural Granby, MO, Sue Fullerton of Neosho, MO, and Virginia of Cabool, MO; as well as several grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Ms. Reed has been entrusted to Derfelt Funeral Home of Galena for cremation. No services are planned at this time. Her final resting place will be at Oak Hill Cemetery of Galena. Online condolences may be expressed at www.derfeltfuneralhomes.com.
