(From Parker Mortuary)William Joseph “Bill” Johnson, age 79, Joplin, passed away on Saturday, February 20, 2021 at Mercy Hospital in Joplin, Missouri.
Bill was born July 14, 1941 in Joplin, Missouri to the late Son Johnson and Josephine Kathryn (Emmert) Johnson and had lived in Joplin all of his life.
Bill was self-employed and worked many years in the lawn and landscaping business. He enjoyed fishing, gardening, the outdoors and woodworking. He was an avid St. Louis Cardinals fan, never missing a game. He will be missed by everyone who knew and loved him.
In addition to his parents, Bill was preceded in death by a brother, David Johnson; and three sisters, Charlotte Fitchett, Barbara Jones and Sharon Lawrence.
Survivors include a sister Karon Lopez of Springfield, Missouri; numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
Memorial Graveside services are planned for Friday, March 5, 2021 at 1:00 p.m. at Forest Park Cemetery with Pastor Gary Jones officiating.
Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Parker Mortuary.
