(From Knell Mortuary)Mary “Luanne” (nee Peters) Wilson 1959-2021. Luanne passed away from a long illness on Wednesday, February 17 in Joplin, Missouri.
Raised in Granby, Missouri Luanne developed a love of reading and a love of life early on. Luanne formed many lifelong friendships while in East Newton High School, from which she graduated in 1977.
She continued her love of learning at Missouri Southern State College and graduated in 1981 with a degree in accounting. Aside from education, nothing shaped Luanne’s life more than her lifelong membership at Granby Church of Christ. Her church family loved and supported her throughout her life.
Luanne leaves behind her husband of 31 years, Joseph “Skipper”, their son Jonathan, her brother James Peters, her sister Kenna Cook, and many many beloved nieces and nephews. Luanne was proceeded in death by her parents James and Phyllis Hill Peters and her brother David Peters. Luanne will forever be missed by all who knew her.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Carthage Humane Society to help all the pets that were so important to her. A memorial service will be planned in the future when the weather improves.
