(From Hedge-Lewis-Goodwin Funeral Home)Mr. Willie Gene Wilson, 68, of Oronogo, Missouri, departed this life on Tuesday, February 23, 2021, in the comfort of his home.
Willie entered this life on November 28, 1952, in Webb City, Missouri, born to the union of the late Willie James and Juanita June (Black) Wilson. He was a lifelong resident of Oronogo, Missouri.
On May 8, 1981, he was united in marriage to Rebecca Flathers and to this union two daughters were born. Willie was a talented auto mechanic throughout his life. He enjoyed hunting and fishing, collecting knives and swords and driving.
He was preceded in death by his parents; an infant brother, Willie James Wilson; and a grandson, Gavean Wilson Phillips.
Willie is survived by his wife, Rebecca Wilson of the home; two daughters, Meranda Wilson and companion, Wade Phillips and Shawnta Wilson-Brand and husband, Mathew, of Joplin; three stepchildren, Treasa Durbin of Columbus, Ohio, Anna Durbin of Granite, Oklahoma and Terrance Durbin also of Granite, Oklahoma; four grandchildren, Zoe-Elizabeth Henry, James-Corbin Henry, Piper-Nicole Henry and Devean Cook; as well as a host of other family and friends.
A visitation will be held on Wednesday evening, March 3, 2021, from 5-7:00 p.m. in the chapel of Hedge-Lewis-Goodwin Funeral Home in Webb City, Missouri.
