(From Derfelt Funeral Home)Yvonne Gail Harley, age 70, passed away on Wednesday, February 17, 2021 at the Nowata Nursing Center in Nowata, OK, attended by kind and caring staff, where she had been a resident for several years.
Gail was born to the union of Harry Keith Harley and Betty Marcel (Dobbins, McCumber) Harley on December 27, 1950 in Columbus, KS at Maude Norton Hospital.
Gail lived in Columbus through her early childhood but then her family moved to Riverton, KS where Gail began her school years and attended Riverton Schools from grades 1st-8th. Her family then moved to Mt. Morris, Michigan where Gail graduated from high school in 1968. She took some classes at Flint Jr. College while she worked at a local bank to continue her education.
Gail returned to the area of her birth in SE Kansas and lived in Riverton and Joplin, MO for several years closer to family.
She is survived by her brother Ronald K. Harley and wife, Terry of Independence, Kansas, along with extended family including aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, whom she loved. She was a beautiful and loving part of our family and always enjoyed being part of gatherings for holidays and birthdays.
She loved being around kids and giving them lots of attention. Especially babies! Gail loved to go shopping especially with her mother whom she loved dearly and would often surprise her with an unexpected gift.
Gail was preceded in death by her parents.
Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, February 25, 2021 at the Lowell Cemetery. Pastor Neal Anderson will officiate. Viewing will be held from 9:00 am- 12:00 pm., Thursday at Derfelt’s Baxter Chapel. Memorial donations may be given to Nowata Nursing Center or Grace Hospice in care of the funeral home.
