(From Ozark Memorial Park Crematory)Gladys Mae Pyle, 78, of Carterville, Missouri, passed away on April 5, 2024 after a short illness. Gladys was born on June 16, 1945 to Jonnie and Maida Fyfe in Dade County, Missouri. She graduated from Lockwood High School in 1963.
Gladys accepted Christ at an early age and was a member Church of God of the Abrahamic Faith. In 1997, Gladys married Stanley Pyle in Carterville. She retired from Freeman Hospital in 2005 as a pharmacy technician.
Gladys was predeceased by her parents, Johnny Fyfe and Maida Fyfe; her brothers, Carl Fyfe and Charles Fyfe, and her daughter, Angela Voorhees Wosel. She is survived by her husband, Stanley Pyle; children, Kevin Voorhees of Emporia, Kansas and Steven (Joy) Voorhees of Portland, Oregon; Stawn (Cathy) Pyle of Neosho, Missouri; and Summer (Aaron) Newberry of Suwanee, Georgia; seven grandchildren and one great-grandson.
Services will be held at Community of Christ on April 27 at 2:00pm at 1212 N Goetz Blvd., Joplin, Missouri. A private grave site service will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, the family request donations be made to St. Jude.
