(From Hillier Funeral Home)A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, April 25, at St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church, 217 W. 26th St., Bryant, Texas 77803 for Willis Freeman Marti, 71, College Station, who died Sunday, April 21, 2024, of complications from a stroke and pneumonia.
A viewing will be held from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. on Wednesday, April 24, at Hillier Funeral Home, 4080 State Highway 6, College Station.
Survivors include his wife, Patrica Gaye Dubose Marti; his children, Christopher David Marti, Robert Jesse Marti and wife Heather, Keira Elisabeth Marti and partners Kimma Troup and Jack Weeks and Katherine Victoria (Marti) Mock and husband Adam; his grandchildren, Trevor Robert Marti and Madelei Yvonne Marti; his brother, Robert Louise Marti and wife Sherry Lynn; his niece, Victoria Nicole (Marti) Beavers and son Jacob Nathaniel Beavers and his son Greyson Robert Beavers and his niece, Jessica Michelle (Marti) Broome and her children, Briana Justine Marti, Michelle Rene Marti and Mia Elizabeth Marti.
He was preceded in death by his mother and father, Freeman Robert Marti and Bonita Justine (Fanning) Marti.
Mr. Marti was born in Lamar, Mo., in 1952, to Freeman Robert Marti and Bonita Justine (Fanning) Marti. He attended Justin F. Kimball High School before his appointment at West Point and a career in the United States Army.
As a civilian, he worked in computer engineering and later taught at Texas A&M University. He transitioned to Assistant Director of Technology and maintained that role until his retirement in 2017.
