(From Daniel Funeral Home)Velma Marie (Loewe) Crockett, age 91, of Lamar, Missouri passed away April 14, 2024, at Truman Healthcare and Rehabilitation in Lamar, MO.
Velma was born August 25,1932 in Barton County, Missouri to Paul & Ethel (Smith) Loewe. She graduated from Sheldon High School in the class of 1950.
On August 11, 1956, Velma married Bobby L. Crockett. Their 53 years of marriage included 50 years on the family farm.
In addition to being a farm wife, Velma worked a variety of jobs, including teachers aide in special ed classes. She also enjoyed hummingbirds, clogging, water aerobics, sewing, quilting, cooking, gardening, and working the elections. Velma was a member of Hopewell CP Church, including CPW, Sunday School and VBS teacher.
Survivors include two sons, Darrel (Judy) Crockett of Lamar and Don (Wendy) Crockett of Houston, Missouri; two daughters, Marilyn (Andy) Holloway of Woodville, Texas and Marla (David) Shepherd of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma; eleven grandchildren, Blake (Lori) Crockett, Brad (Jeni) Crockett, Jacina Crockett, Aubrey Crockett, Michael (Hope) Holloway, Casey Holloway, Shabri (Zach) Parker, Kira (Logan) Birdsong, Kylan Holloway, Joel Shepherd and Brooke (Keagan) Clement; nine great-grandchildren (with another due this summer); and two sisters, Nadine Mayfield and Wilma Braker.
Velma was preceded in death by her husband, Bobby; her parents; one grandson, Barry Crockett; one brother Eugene Loewe; and three sisters, Irene Westbay, Edna Mae Mayfield and Betty Gilmartin.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, April 19, 2024, at Daniel Funeral Home with burial to follow in St. James Cemetery in Lamar, MO.
