(From Parker Mortuary)Kenneth “Ken” Bert Robin Pippin, age 78, of Neosho, passed away on Monday, April 15, 2024 at the Solace House of the Ozarks in Joplin surrounded by his family.
Ken was born on December 8, 1945 in Joplin, MO, son of Kenneth O. Pippin and Margaret E. (Harris) Hamm. During his childhood years, his family moved around a lot between Joplin, Kansas City, and Los Angeles. The last schools he attended were Waco and Carl Junction.
He enlisted in the U.S. Army in 1965 and served 20 years as an engineer. During that time, he spent 2 Tours in Vietnam for a total of 3 years and 1 Tour in Germany. The rest of his time in the Army was spent in the United States. While in Germany, he met the love of his life, Brigitte Meier. He married Brigitte on January 12, 1985 in Indianapolis, IN.
After retiring from the military, they moved back to the Joplin area to settle down and start a family. Once returning home, he started working for Joplin Pipe & Steel. Together they purchased Southtown Cleaners, which Brigitte ran most of the time from 1994 until 2019. Ken loved tinkering on old cars and motorcycles. He enjoyed going to car shows with Brigitte and his car buddies.
Ken was preceded in death by his father, Kenneth O. Pippin; brother, Eddy Pippin; and step-father, Joe Hamm.
Ken is survived by his wife, Brigitte Pippin, of the home; two sons, Kenneth Pippin and Rob Richmond (Debra); mother, Margaret Hamm; seven siblings, Linda Achey (David), Bob Pippin, Chris Pippin, Peggy Cauble (Stan), John Pippin, Kathy Lawson (Doug), and Mike Pippin; four grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested donation be sent to the Golden Paw Pet Rescue, Joplin Humane Society, Wounded Warrior Project, or a charity of your choice.
Visitation will be held on Friday, April 19, 2024 from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. at Parker Mortuary Chapel.
Graveside service will be held on Monday, April 22, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. at Mt. Hope Cemetery with Pastor Josh Myers officiating.
Funeral arrangements are under the special care and direction of Parker Mortuary.
