(From Parker Mortuary)Richard Keith Reece, age 93, of Joplin, passed away on Tuesday, April 16, 2024, at the Communities of Wildwood in Joplin.
Richard, son of the late Harry and Vera (Dameron) Reece, was born on March 12, 1931, in Iowa City, IA. Upon graduating from High School, Richard enlisted in the United States Army at the beginning of the Korean War and served his country honorably for nine years. He then worked in management for FW Woolworth Co. in several states before retiring in 1987.
On September 10, 1999, he was united in marriage to Sue Grant in Joplin. She preceded him in death on February 5, 2019. Richard was a member of the St. Philips Episcopal Church of Joplin.
Survivors include his children, Robert K. Reece (Lyuda), of Ocala, FL, Cathy A. Reece, of Ocala, FL, and Cindy L. Biggs (William), of Ocala, FL; daughter-in-law, Vicki Reece; seven grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; his loving companion, Norine Compton; and many extended family members. In addition to his parents, Richard was preceded in death by his first wife, Lois B. Reece; three infant children; son, David Reece; siblings, Theodore Reece, Michael J. Reece, and Carolyn Stalkfleet.
Private family committal of ashes will be held at Ozark Memorial Park Cemetery in Joplin.
Arrangements are under the personal care and direction of Parker Mortuary, Joplin.
