(From Mason-Woodard Mortuary)Mrs. Kathryn Elizabeth "Kathy" Gehrke, 74, of Joplin Mo passed away Tuesday afternoon, April 16th, 2024, at Freeman Hospital in Joplin MO following a long struggle with her health.
Kathyrn was born on November 26, 1949, in Fort Bragg, North Carolina to the union of the late Aubrie "Gene" Gass and Fannie Gass. Kathy was married to Oliver "Ollie" Gehrke on April 7th, 1968, in Joplin, Mo.
The odd couple met in the Army, Ollie an enlisted man, Kathy an "Army Brat."
Kathy spent her time taking care of three kids during their 48 years of marriage. Her last few years she spent spoiling her 5 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her Husband, Ollie, parents, Aubrie and Fannie Gass, two brothers, Mike and Mark Gass, and older sister Linda Bailey.

Kathy is survived by her three children, Donald "Gene" Gehrke, David Gehrke and wife (Virginia), Jennifer Danner; Five grandchildren, Steven Gehrke, Michael Gehrke and fiancée (Ciera), Kaitlyn Dalton and husband (Korbin), Sara Danner, Lauren Danner. Three great grandchildren, Zaiden Gehrke, Oliver Gehrke, and Deklan Dalton. As well as her younger sisters Debi Maggard and Donna Patton.
Memorial Visitation will be held from 10:00 - 11:00 am on Friday, April 19, 2024 at Mason Wood Chapel. Arrangements in care of Mason-Woodward Mortuary and Crematory.
