Teddy Oglesby

Mary Tedford Brown Oglesby, lovingly known as Teddy, 77, of Galena, KS, passed away peacefully on April 17, 2024 at The Galena Nursing Center after a battle with breast cancer. She was born on June 11, 1946 in Baltimore, MD to Pauline Duff Brown and Albert Brown.

Funeral services, officiated by Pastor Steve Thomas, under the direction of Parker Mortuary, will be held on Saturday, April 27th, at Royal Heights Methodist Church, Joplin, MO, at 2:00 PM with a graveside service to follow at Mount Hope Cemetery, Joplin, MO.








Teddy is survived by her husband Larry “Butch” D. Oglesby, sons Len Albert Emery of Fort Worth, TX and Jess Corbit Emery of Fort Worth, TX, daughters Shannon Brower and husband, Tony, of Carl Junction, MO., and Erin Steely and husband, Tim, of Rogers, AR, grandchildren Haylee Emery, Mason Emery, Autumn Emery, Austin Emery, Daniel Brower, Bailey Brower, Emma Brower, Chandler Brower and wife, Alex, Caleb Brower, Christian Brower, Carter Brower, and Charity Brower, and 7 great grandchildren, her brother Patrick Brown and wife, Peggy, of Arlington, TX, and her sister Elizabeth Brown Shedd and husband, Kenneth Michael , of Wetumpka, AL. She married Larry Oglesby on November 3rd, 1995.

She worked at Tri-State Motor Transit as a driver and later recruiter. She retired from Tri-State after 20 years of service. She was a devoted grandmother and friend to all who knew her. She was known for her loving, generous, and fun personality. She will be remembered for her love of horses, travel and crafts. She touched the lives of many and will be deeply missed.








Teddy’s family would like to extend their sincere gratitude to The Galena Nursing Center and Compassus Hospice for their compassionate care.
