(From Ozark Funeral Home)James Marshall Ridgway, known affectionately as Marshall & "Pop" to his friends and family, passed away peacefully on April 13, 2024, at the age of 96. Born on December 19, 1927, in Washburn, Missouri, he was a man whose life was as rich and fulfilling as the years he lived. Marshall's final days were spent in Seneca, Missouri, surrounded by the love and memories he created over nearly a century.
Marshall's journey began in the small town of Washburn, where he learned the value of hard work and the importance of community.
As a skilled electrician, he illuminated the lives of those around him, both literally and figuratively. His dedication to his craft was matched only by his involvement in various associations, where he shared his knowledge and camaraderie with fellow tradesmen.
Beyond his professional life, Marshall was a man of many interests. He was an avid fisherman, a hobby that provided him with countless hours of tranquility and joy on the water. His sense of humor was as reliable as his fishing rod, and making jokes was second nature to him. He also had an innate ability to tinker on anything, a testament to his handy and inventive spirit.
Described by those who knew him as loving, faith-filled, and handy, Marshall leaves behind a legacy of warmth and devotion. His family, which includes grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren, will carry forward the values and lessons he instilled in them.
Marshall is preceded in death by parents Ed and Alpha Ridgway, two brothers Albert and Jay, wife of 65 years Lucille "Mersman" Michael, son Bill Michael, daughter, Judy Cummings, daughter Leona Hurley, son Larry Michael, daughter, Dianna Rudd, and a grand-daughter, Anna Brown.
