Glen McMillen

Glen Cecil McMillen, 88, passed away on Thursday, April 11, 2024.

Glen was born on Monday, July 22, 1935 in Pioneer, Missouri to Lloyd and Effie (Hutchens) McMillen.

Glen was united in marriage to Frances “Carolyn” Collins on November 19, 1955. They were married for over 60 years until Carolyn’s passing in 2016.








Glen worked as an engineer for Boeing throughout his career from his graduation from Wichita State University to his retirement. He began his career on the B-52 flight test program as an aeronautical engineer and transitioned to work on the Saturn V project for the Apollo program in the 1960s as a software engineer.

Glen was a voracious reader and particularly enjoyed reading about early sailors, explorers, and African safari hunters. He enjoyed traveling and even went as far as Antarctica with his son and daughter in 2022 and explored his Scottish roots with his son in 2017. Glen and his wife crisscrossed the country multiple times in their RV. Glen was an avid flight simulator hobbyist and recently built a helicopter flight simulator after a trip to Hawaii with his son where they took several helicopter tours.

Glen is survived by his son, Mark McMillen of San Diego, CA; daughter, Teresa and Husband Patrick Boyd of Garden City, NY; grandchildren, Daniel Vuoso, George Vuoso, and Adam Vuoso; brother, Jerry and wife Nola McMillen; Nephews, Terry McMillen, Danny McMillen, Roger McMillen, and Jonathan McMillen; and Niece Lynne Williams.

Glen is preceded in death by his parents; wife; and brothers, Rex McMillen, Kenneth McMillen, and Robert McMillen.








Visitation will be held on Friday, April 19th from 1 – 2 p.m. at Dunsford Funeral Home of Augusta. Funeral Service will begin at 2 p.m. on April 19th immediately following the visitation.

The family wishes Memorial Contributions be made out to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or to the National MS Society, left in care of the Dunsford Funeral Home.
