Jack Druart

Jack Arthur Druart, 91, of Frontenac, Kansas passed away on Friday, July 11, 2025 at Mercy Hospital in Pittsburg, Kansas following a sudden, short fight with cancer.

Jack was born on February 14, 1934, to Arthur and Rose (Kreus) Druart in Ottawa, Kansas, but raised most of his life in his beloved hometown of Frontenac, Kansas. His grandparents were Joseph and Mary (Roseman) Kreus and Emil and Victoria (Tordeur) Druart. Their parents were early settlers in the Frontenac area arriving in the late 1890s. 






He graduated from Pitt State University where he attained his Bachelor of Science, Masters of Science and Education Specialists degrees. He entered the United States Army in 1957 serving at Ft. Benning third army headquarters where he illustrated the first field manual for the M14 rifle.

On September 7, 1957, he married Carolyn Sue Fox in Franklin, KS. They later divorced. Years later he was united in marriage with Kay Kessler of Norfolk, Virginia on December 27, 1986 in Fort Scott, Kansas. She survives of the home. Education became his life’s work, beginning at Prescott High School in Prescott, Kansas. He then created the two-year drafting program for the Haskell Indian School in Lawrence, Kansas. From there he moved to Des Moines, Iowa where he joined the faculty of the Des Moines Technical High School where he taught architectural/structural drafting and math for 24 years. He retired from teaching and worked as an engineer in the R & D Division of Leggett and Platt Corporation in Carthage, Missouri.







Jack is survived by his wife Kay of the home, son Paul, daughter Elee. Grandchildren Laura and Peter and great grandson, Liam; a brother Carl Joseph (Mary Sue) a cousin Joyce Ann, nephews Ned, Tad and niece Carla Sue and numerous grand nieces and nephews. He was preceded by his maternal grandparents Joseph and Mary Kreus, paternal grandparents Emil and Victoria Druart, parents Arthur and Rose Druart, his first wife Carolyn Fox Druart and an infant son, Michael Arthur Druart.

A rosary will be said on Thursday July 17, 2025, at 10:00 am prior to the Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 am at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with Father Josh Evans as celebrant. Burial of the cremated remains will follow at Mt. Carmel Cemetery. A visitation will be held on Wednesday from 6:30 pm to 8:00 pm at Brenner Mortuary. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be left to the Mt. Carmel Cemetery Endowment or the Frontenac Library Foundation.
