Brooks was born May 16, 1943 in Payson, Utah, son of the late John Heber Brinkerhoff and Dona Vee Ross Brinkerhoff. He served in the United States Army, and later in the United States Navy on the USS Coral. He worked as a truck driver, and also in construction for many years, mainly as a supervisor. He was proud of his Cherokee Heritage, and enjoyed collecting, and making arrowheads.
Brooks was a faithful member of the First Assembly of God Church of Carl Junction where he served as a Deacon. He loved serving the Lord, and being a positive influence on all he came in contact. He will be greatly missed.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death four siblings, Ted Brinkerhoff, Steve Brinkerhoff, Terry Brinkerhoff, and Connie Brinkerhoff.
Survivors include his wife of 53 years, Rosemary K. Stockburger Brinkerhoff; children, Troy Brinkerhoff of Alba, Missouri, Ty Brinkerhoff of Joplin, Brooks Brinderhoff, Jr. of Carterville, and Buffie Martin and husband Gregory of Carthage, Missouri; six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; siblings, Judy Koral and husband Jim of Grand Pass, Oregon, Valoy Chapman and husband David of Mesa, Arizona, Debbie Neal and husband Hennie of Visalia, California, JoAnn Castor and husband Skip of Heyburn, Idaho, Renee Kenner of Rupert, Indiana, and LeRoy Brinkerhoff of Rupert; numerous nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and nephews.
Funeral service will be Friday, December 28, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. at First Assembly of God Church, Carl Junction, with Pastor Gregory Martin and Pastor Dave Mosely officiating. Interment will follow in Carterville Cemetery with Greg Stockburger, Gary Lynn, Jimmy Dean Richardson, Justin Stockburgrer, David Fort, and Donald Snyder serving as pallbearers.
The family will receive friends at Parker Mortuary on Thursday from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m.
