Carl Lewis Conway, age 65, Carthage, MO, passed away Saturday evening, December 15, 2018. Carl Lewis Conway was born April 17, 1953 in Joplin, MO to the late Clifford “Cotton” Conway and Lavon Conway. He graduated from Sarcoxie High School, Class of 1971. Carl married Marilyn George on February 1, 1983 in Sherman, TX; she survives. He worked as a heavy equipment specialist for TEI in Joplin, MO for 40 years. Carl was a member and past master of the Jasper Masonic Lodge #398 in Jasper, MO, a member of the Abou Ben Adhem Shrine Club, Springfield, MO, and a member of the Mt. Vernon Church of Christ. Carl was a family man and loved fishing and spending time with his grandchildren.
Survivors include his wife, Marilyn; four children, Brian Conway, Carl Junction, MO, Josh Conway, Pea Ridge, AR, Monica Bagby, Reeds, MO, and Kevin Conway, Pea Ridge, AR; two brothers, Dale Conway, Sarcoxie, MO, and Glenn Conway, Joplin, MO; one sister, Karen Thurman, Maple Grove, MO; thirteen grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, one son, Daniel Friddle, one sister, Wanda Hull, and two brothers, Clifford M. Conway and Keith Conway.
Visitation will be held 6-7 pm, Tuesday, December 18, 2018 at Knell Mortuary, Carthage. Funeral services will be held 2 pm, Wednesday, December 19, 2018 at Knell Mortuary. Interment will follow the service at Avilla Cemetery, Avilla, MO. Memorial gifts are suggested to the Shriners Hospitals for Children in care of Knell Mortuary.
