Donnie Lavern Schell, 81, of Tulsa, Oklahoma died December 28 at his home.
He was born September 28, 1937 in Jane, Missouri to Hugh Franklin Schell and Velva LaFawn McCool Schell. He was raised in the Whittenburg Community and attended White Rock School. He married Shirley Mae Woodard before moving to Wichita, Kansas to work for Boeing Airlines. He then moved to Tulsa and retired from American Airlines. He loved Nascar and was a mechanic for Hershel Thompson Racing in Tulsa. He could build computers, work on cameras and was of the Church of Christ faith. He is preceded in death by his parents; his wife Shirley; a sister Velda O'Brien (Harold).
Survivors are a son Brad Schell (Becky) of Tulsa; a brother, Dennis Schell of Lanagan, Missouri; a sister, Zelda Henson (Troy) of Pineville, Missouri; sister-in-laws, Joyce Botts and Clyta Brewer of Wichita, Kansas; two grandchildren, Kara Gourd (Bruce) and Scott Schell (Melissa) and three great-grandchildren.
Service is set for 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, January 2 at Sisco Funeral Chapel in Pea Ridge with Tommy Burr officiating. Visitation will start at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday before the service. Burial will be in Pea Ridge Cemetery.
