Elsie “Madge” Vicory passed away peacefully at her home surrounded by her loved ones, to go to her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, on Sunday, December 9, 2018 at the age of 79. She was born in Joplin, Missouri on September 29, 1939.
Madge is survived by her loving husband, Phillip Vicory, of 36 years, three sons, and one daughter. Darrell Osborn Jr. and wife, Marry; Steve Greenhaw and wife, Deana; John Greenhaw, all three of Springfield, Missouri and Vanessa Zuraw and husband, Paul, both of the home. One brother, Earl VanBeek of Joplin. Seven grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren. Good friends that have became family over the years.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Bernard VanBeek and Charlene VanBeek; and a brother, Eddie Barnes.
Madge graduated from Aurora High School in Aurora, Missouri. She also received a BA in psychology from Maple Woods Community College in Kansas City, Missouri. After moving from Kansas City to Joplin, she owned and operated her own merchandise store for several years. Many a times you could drive by her house and see her out in the yard planting flowers or making some crafty project. She loved being outdoors, whether it was gardening or camping, hunting or fishing. She also loved sitting on her patio drinking coffee while watching the birds and squirrels play. She instilled that love in her children.
She will be greatly missed by all her family and everyone that knew her.

Visitation will be held at Parker Mortuary on Friday, December 14, 2018 from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM.
