William Gerald "Jerry" Freeman, age 79, Loma Linda, passed away on Thursday, December 20, 2018 at his home after a lengthy illness.
Jerry was born February 6, 1939 in Russellville, Alabama, son of the late William Brice Freeman and Angie Burleson Freeman. He graduated from Theodore High School, Theodore, Alabama, and then earned a degree in Computer Programming from East Mississippi Community College in Scooba, Mississippi. He served with the United States Army during the Vietnam Era where he was sent to the Pentagon to work in the Computer Department. After his discharge from active duty, he worked in Civil Service for over 20 years, and then retired in 2005 after 25 years with Fiserv Inc. where he worked at several locations worldwide in their Systems and Programming Management and Sales. He moved to the Loma Linda area in 2016. He was a member of the Seneca United Methodist Church of Seneca.
In addition to his parents, Jerry was preceded in death by a grandson, Joshua Freeman.
Survivors include his wife of 32 years, Sandy Larned Freeman; sons, David Freeman and wife Arlene of Austin, Texas, Michael Freeman and wife Cheri of Plainfield, Indiana, and Robert Freeman and wife Sharon of Apopka, Florida; three grandchildren, Patrick Freeman, Brice Freeman, and Rachel Freeman; several other extended family and friends including Jerry Howell and wife Della Ann, and Karen Stovall.
Memorial service will be Thursday, December 27, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. in Parker Mortuary Chapel with his close family friend, Pastor Murray Hollis, officiating.
The family will visit with friends following the service at Parker Mortuary.
Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Parker Mortuary.
The family requests that memorial contributions be made to Christian Friends Connection care of Parker Mortuary.
