(From Brown-Winters Funeral Home)Carolyn Sue (Watson) Hirsch, 84, a resident of Joplin, Missouri, passed away surrounded by family in Grove, Oklahoma, on Saturday, December 14, 2024.
Carolyn was born in Willow Springs, Missouri, on December 18, 1939, to Robert and Irma (Wallin) Watson. Carolyn is a graduate of Joplin High School. She married Charles Hirsch and they raised four children together.
She worked as a bank teller for First National Bank in Miami, Oklahoma, and Alvin State Bank in Alvin, Texas. She was an active member of the Catholic Church and belonged to Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Miami. She was proud to have been a kindergarten teacher at Queen of Angels Catholic Church in Dickenson, Texas. She was also a member of the Elks Lodge 501 in Joplin, Missouri.
In her free time Carolyn enjoyed reading, traveling, going to casinos, baking, and spending time with her children and grandchildren.
Preceding Carolyn in passing are her parents, Robert and Irma Watson, husband, Charles Hirsch, son, Brad Jacobs, siblings, Betty Warden, Jack Watson, Linda Watson, Barbara Vaughan, and Terry Watson.
Those left to share the beautiful memory of Mrs. Hirsch include her daughters, Missy Nichols, Lynnette Whitlow and her husband Bill, Trisha Elkins and her husband Jerry, sisters, Roberta Young, Shirley Myers, and Patsy Barton, grandchildren, Hannah Yeubanks and Shelby Nichols, and great grandchildren, Tyler and Brody.
There will be a Rosary at Brown-Winters Funeral Home and Cremation Service Chapel in Miami, Oklahoma, for Carolyn from 6:00 P.M. to 6:30 P.M. with visitation following until 8:00 P.M. on Thursday, December 19, 2024. There will be a Mass of Christian Burial at 2:00 P.M. on Friday, December 20, 2024, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Miami, Oklahoma, with burial following at Ozark Memorial Park Cemetery in Joplin, Missouri.
The family requests that in Lieu of flowers memorial donations be made to Sacred Heart Catholic Church.
