Lewis Hance

Lewis A. Hance, age 72, of Joplin, Missouri, passed away peacefully on March 1, 2026. Born on November 11, 1953, in Diamond, Missouri, Lewis lived a life marked by quiet strength, dedication, and love for his family.

In 1974, Lewis moved to Joplin after marrying the love of his life, Beverly Dianne Shively. Together, they built a home filled with warmth and resilience. Lewis worked for 43 years at Schreiber Foods, where he was known for his reliability and strong work ethics.







He was preceded in death by his parents, Lewis T. Hance and Dorothy J. Hance, whose values and spirit he carried forward throughout his life.

Lewis is survived by his devoted wife, Beverly D. Hance, of Joplin; three children who were the pride of his life, Michael A. Hance (Lori) of Granby, Missouri, Stephanie D. Hance, of Joplin, and Amanda D. Hance, of Joplin; his brother, George M. Hance, of Stockton, Missouri; and his sister, Sue Anne Hance, of Texas.

His legacy continues through his seven grandchildren, Kyle (Canon), Tyler (Brianna), Dalton, Megan (Trey), Emily, Dayden and Malorie; eight great-grandchildren, Ryder, Ema, Keeton, Ivan, Kayden, Grady, Alynia and Wyatt, each of whom brought him immense joy and laughter.








Lewis will be remembered for his steady presence, his love for family, and the quiet wisdom he shared with those around him. His memory lives on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, March 5, 2026 from 5:00 - 7:00 p.m. at Parker Mortuary Chapel.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, March 6, 2026 at 10:00 a.m. at Parker Mortuary Chapel with pastor Jim Bowles officiating. Interment to follow at Diamond Cemetery.




Funeral arrangements are under the special care and direction of Parker Mortuary.
