Charlotte Solomon

Charlotte Kay Solomon passed away on February 23, 2024, in Tulsa, Oklahoma. She was born on February 18, 1942, in Carl Junction, Missouri, to the late Orville and Mary Irwin.

A dedicated employee, Charlotte retired from Cliffstar in Webb City, Missouri. Charlotte found peace and solace on the water, especially at her beloved lake home in Grove. She loved being outdoors, from fishing to gardening.

Charlotte's family was the centerpiece of her life. She is survived by her children, Chad Willis, Libby Tabor (Kendall), and Debbie Madison (Charlie); grandchildren, Levi Willis, Tawnee Parker (Derek), Jon Tabor, Jake Solomon, Kinley Madison, Kasondra Stewart (Ryan), Malachi Madison, and the anticipated joy of her first great-grandchild, Baby Parker; siblings, Dale Irwin and Lynette Johnson-Hardcastle; step-siblings, Richard Cook (Sydney), Jim Cook (Lucy), Joann Rolleg, and Jerry Sue Rentfro.

She was preceded in death by her husbands, Jon Solomon, who passed in 1997, and Mike Outlaw, who passed in August 2023; beloved son, Eric Willis; grandchild, Jace Madison; siblings, Robin, Ford, Danny, Kenny, Richard, Roger, Nyla Sue, and Deanie; and mother-in-law, Sue Cook.

Her impact on the world was as perennial as the blooms in her garden, and her memory will continue to inspire growth and beauty in the lives of those she touched. As the seasons change and the flowers in her garden begin to blossom once more, we are reminded of Charlotte's enduring presence.

A memorial service is planned for Friday, March 1, 2023 at 2:00 p.m. at Parker Mortuary Chapel in Joplin, Missouri. The family invites friends for a time of visitation at 1:00 p.m. at the mortuary. Arrangements are under the direction of Parker Mortuary.

Louise Jennings

Fern “Louise” Jennings went to be with Lord on Friday, February 23rd, 2024. She fought a long battle of dementia, but she loved a long life filled with love for her family and her husband of more than 50 years.

She is preceded in death by her son, Marvin DeWayne Witcher, and is survived by her husband, William “Bill” Jennings, and her two loving daughters, Kayanna Hufford of Anderson, Missouri and Zinda Spangler of Sulphur Springs, Arkansas. She had two stepsons, William Lee Jennings of Rogers, Arkansas and Charles Clea Jennings of Maysville, Arkansas.

She was known as “Nanny” by her many grandchildren and great children, and she was loved dearly by all of them.

She will be missed by all, but especially her husband who adored her.

Kaye Mancini

Kaye A. (Jackson) Mancini, of Greenfield, MO, left this earth to go home to her Heavenly Father’s arms on Sunday, February 25, 2024, at the age of 77.

She was born on November 29, 1946 in Springfield, MO. Kaye graduated from Waynesville High School in 1964. She attended Cosmetology School and was a beautician for many years. Kaye was a talented decorator and loved to quilt.

Preceding her in death were her parents, Charles and Evelyn Crawford; one sister, Sue Wynes; and one nephew, M.J. Montez.

Survivors include her husband, Michael Mancini of the home; one daughter, Kristi Jackson of Springfield, MO; two sons, Bryan Jackson of Jefferson City, MO and Rob Jackson of South Greenfield, MO; two step-sons, Christopher Mancini of Chester Springs, PA and Phillip Mancini of Ruther Glen, VA; two step-daughters, Jennifer Rhodes of Ruther Glen, VA and Stephanie Mancini of Ruther Glen, VA; two sisters, Nancy Lowe and husband Rodney of Greenfield, MO and Vicki Howard and husband Dell of Willard, MO; one grandson, Stoney Jackson and wife McKenzie of South Dakota; special niece, Kim Fenton; special nephew, Josh Lowe; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, March 9, 2024, from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at Greenfield Funeral Chapel. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association. Services are under the care of Greenfield Funeral Chapel.

Barbara Clifton

Barbara Fay (Hurlbert) Clifton left this earth on February 22, 2024 surrounded by her family.
Barbara was born October 20, 1954 in Pittsburg, Ks. to Roscoe and Edith (Norris) Hurlbert.
She attended school in Waco and Carl Junction, Mo.

Barbara was preceded in death by her parents and sister, Marla and niece Chrystal Doughty, and her little dog BamBam.

Survivors include her sister Christie Doughty (John), Opolis, Ks., brothers Mike (Tami) Hurlbert, Pittsburg, Ks., Larry “Bub” Hurlbert (Dave), Green Lake, Wi. Children: David (Teresa) Clifton, Joplin, Mo., Melissa (Scott) Rosenberg, Joplin, Mo., Rebecca (Travis) Daggett, Joplin, Mo., Jennifer (Everett) Renfro, Seneca, Mo., Grandchildren: Kylea (Joe) Gomez, Jordan McAllister, Kolten Stegall, Peyton (Jacob) Ralph, Kennadi Stegall, Raydan Rosenberg, Koaltan Renfro, Kyran Renfro, Kylee Renfro, Great Grand Children: Brynley, Sawyer and Teagan Ralph, Nieces/Nephews: Clovis, William, Harold Clifton, Crystal Woolsey, Briana (Mike) Wise, Andrew (Lela) Doughty, Roman, Makenzie and Karsyn Hurlbert, special great nephews: Landan Doughty, Bryan Adams, Maverick Wise, Logan and Tyler Doughty, cousins and extended family, and her bonus family at Joplin Gardens Nursing Home

Jim Danley

James Roy Danley, age 82, a resident of Ft. Scott, Kansas, passed away Saturday, February 24, 2024, at the Guest Home Estates in Ft. Scott. He was born September 21, 1941, in Ft. Scott, the son of Marvin James Danley and Ruth Post Danley. 

Jim graduated from the Fulton High School. After graduation, he served with the United States Navy from 1960 to 1964. He was stationed in Japan for a portion of his service where he was assigned to Helicopter Utility Squadron #1. 

Following his military service, Jim married Paula Baez. Jim and Paula along with Paula’s two young sons, Pedro and Hector, then moved back to the family farm near Devon, Kansas. Jim continued to farm and raise cattle until 1976 when he purchased the Finney County Feed Yard in Garden City, Kansas. He owned and operated the feedlot for several years. Jim and Paula later divorced and Jim relocated to Springfield, Missouri. 

At this time, he began working as a cattle buyer for the Joplin Regional Stockyard. He later moved to Ft. Scott to be closer to his family. Jim enjoyed playing golf and traveling. He was able to take several trips including vacations to Canada for fishing as well as touring Australia and Ireland. He was a past member of the Masonic Lodge.

Survivors include his sons, Pedro Morillo of Fulton, Kansas and Hector Morillo of Garden City, Kansas; six grandchildren, Carmen Hickman (Chris) of Garden City, Kansas, Alisa Morillo of Wichita, Tonya Chandler (Donnie) of Wichita, Kansas, James Morillo of Ft. Scott, Joshua Morillo of Perkins, Oklahoma and Jace Morillo (Alexandria) of Mound City, Kansas; twenty-one great- grandchildren and eight great-great-grandchildren. Also surviving are extended family members, Henry and Patty Homan who helped provide for his care and an aunt, Yvonne Short.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Saturday, March 2nd at the Cheney Witt Chapel. Burial with military honors will follow in the Mapleton Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Saturday from 10:00 A.M. until service time at the Cheney Witt Chapel. Memorials are suggested to Mt. Siria Pelico

Siria Corina Juarez Pelico, 37, of Carthage, Missouri, passed away on Friday, February 23, 2024, at Hillcrest Hospital in Tulsa, Oklahoma. 

Siria was born on May 24, 1986, in Quetzaltenango, Coatepeque in Guatemala to Segundo Juarez Vasquez and Adelina Pelico Alvarado. She has been a resident of Carthage for over 15 years. 

She was a homemaker and a very dedicated and doting mother of four beautiful girls.

She is survived by her husband Cornelio Lucas Mendez; four daughters, Darsi Lucas, Rocio Lucas, Yennefer Lucas, and Darlin Lucas; her father, Segundo Juarez Vasquez; and two brothers and one sister.
There will be a funeral service for Siria on Saturday, March 2, 2024, at Iglesia Christiana Emmanuel from 7:00 to 11:30 PM in Carthage, Missouri.

Chris Lovan

Lena Christine "Chris" Lovan, age 72, of Lamar, Missouri passed away February 23, 2024.

Chris was born September 23, 1951 in Lamar, MO., to Robert William Fast and Lois Pearl (Strong) Fast. Chris graduated from Liberal High School.

Chris was a registered nurse and worked at Cox Barton County Hospital in Lamar, MO.

Survivors include one son, Trampas (Leisa) Brooks of Carthage, Missouri; one daughter, Shay (David) Medley of Springfield, Missouri; seven grandchildren, Makenzie Clark, Kortni Brooks, Robert Wehmer, Max Lee, William Wehmer, Calli Augusta and Cawren Augusta; three great-grandchildren, Cylas Cackley, Margo Lee and Blythe Lee; one brother, Robert "Bobby" (Sally) Fast Jr. of Liberal, Missouri; and one sister, Connie King, of Liberal, MO.

Chris was preceded in death by her parents and a brother-in-law, James King.

A visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. ~ 7:00 p.m., Tuesday, February 27, 2024 at Daniel Funeral Home in Lamar, MO.
