David K. Rand Jr., age 47 of Joplin, Mo. passed away at 3:30 a.m. Wednesday, October 14, 2015 at Freeman Hospital West following a two year illness. David was born December 10, 1967 in Carthage, Mo. and had lived in Webb City most of his life, moving to Joplin in 2011. David graduated from Webb City High School in 1986 and graduated from MSSU in1991. He was employed as a Driver for United Parcel Service for the last 28 years.
He also owned David Rand Lawn Service for 10 years. He was a member of Christ’s Church of Oronogo, and volunteered at Miracle League of Joplin, a baseball program for children with special needs at Will Norton Field.
David married Amy Fisher June 24, 1989 in Webb City, Mo and she survives. Additional survivors include a son, Brayton Rand and wife Lauren, Webb City, a daughter, Hayden Rand, Joplin, and his Father, Keith Rand and wife Barbara, Webb City. He was preceded in death by his Mother, Rosie Rand, and his sister, Joy Hilke.
Services will be at 10:00 a.m. Saturday at Christ’s Church of Oronogo with Mark Christian, Minister, officiating. Employees of United Parcel Service and Crowder College will be seated together as groups. The family will receive friends at their residence from 5-7 p.m. Friday. Memorial contributions are requested to the Miracle League, Will Norton Field in care of the Mortuary. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Mason-Woodard Mortuary of Joplin, Mo.
