Sherry "Nana" Taylor, age 63 of Webb City, Missouri, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, October 13, 2015 surrounded by her family.
Sherry was born December 20, 1951 in Joplin to the late Durwood McFarland and Genevieve Fields McFarland.
Sherry married her first love and best friend, Rodney Taylor, on December 19, 1969 in Carterville, Missouri, whom she met when she was 8 years old. She devoted her whole life to her husband, children and grandbabies.
Other than her husband, Rodney, she is survived by sons, Rod Taylor and wife, Amy of Webb City, Todd Taylor and wife, Amanda of Webb City; daughter, Nikki Hartin and husband, Kelly of Riverton, Kansas; grandchildren, Chase, Adyson, Reece, Liv, Lia and Owen Taylor and Taylor Hartin; sister, Sue Huey of Webb City.
She is preceded in death by her brother, Gary McFarland.
Sherry was a hard worker. She worked outside the home in banking and MSSU. Her favorite job though was an in-home daycare operator where she became "Nana" to many children over the years. She loved children, especially her seven precious grandbabies.
Sherry was an avid Cardinal baseball fan and loved doing things for others. She was a true picture of pride, dignity and amazing selfless love and will be missed greatly.
A graveside will be held Friday, October 16th at 9:30 a.m. at the Webb City Cemetery followed by a Celebration of Life at 11:00 a.m. at Christ Church of Oronogo. Wes Davis and Scott Ensminger to officiate services.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to either St. Jude's Hospital or the Cerebral Palsy Center of Webb City, both in care of the mortuary.
Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Parker Mortuary, Joplin, Missouri.
