Pauline Cearnal

Pauline Frances Cearnal, 98, Carthage, MO, passed away Thursday, October 29, 2015 at Mercy Hospital, Joplin, MO. Pauline Frances Per was born January 1, 1917 in Girard, KS to the late Frank Per and Jenny Frances (Prosnecker) Per. She was the owner and operator of Pauline’s Diner and Thad’s Skelly Station in Avilla, MO. She was a cook at Judy’s Truck Stop, Jasper, MO, for 32 years, worked at Cooky’s CafĂ© in Golden City, MO, and was a Greeter at The Women’s Rest Center in the Jasper County Courthouse. She was a member of the Laugh a Lot Club in Avilla, MO. Pauline was a member of Fairview Christian Church, Carthage, MO.

Survivors include two sons; Michael T. (wife Robin) Cearnal, Seneca, MO, and William J. (wife Linda) Cearnal, Joplin, MO; two daughters; Stephanie (husband Danny) Hensley, Carthage, MO, and Cindy (husband Danny) Dillon, Ridgedale, MO; one sister; Stevie Eidson, Carthage, MO; thirteen grandchildren; Shawn Michael Cearnal, Joshua Thaddeus Cearnal, Sean Michael Johanson, Brent Hensley, Shelly Deruy, Matthew William Cearnal, Seth Baldwin, Nicholas Ramsay Renfro, Nathaniel David Renfro, Nolan Austin Renfro, Daniel Dillon, Dana Dillon, and Derek Dillon; twenty-one great grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters; Josephine Henry and Millie Dalton; and one brother; Joe Per.

Visitation will be held Sunday, November 1, 2015 from 5:00 – 6:00 PM in the Knell Mortuary Chapel. Funeral service will be held Monday, November 2, 2015 at 10:00 AM in the Knell Mortuary Chapel. John Mouton and Tony Allmoslecher will officiate. Interment will follow the service in Park Cemetery, Carthage, MO. Memorial gifts are suggested to the St. Luke’s Nursing Center, Carthage, MO in care of Knell Mortuary, 308 W. Chestnut, Carthage, MO 64836.
