Mark Snow

Mr. James Mark Snow, 66, of Ozark, Missouri, formerly of Sarcoxie, Missouri and Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, departed this life on Monday, October 19, 2015 at his home surrounded by his loving family.

Mark entered this life on November 2, 1948 in Joplin, Missouri to the union of the late James Lee “Bud” and Margaret Ann (Smith) Snow. Mark was a 1966 graduate of Sarcoxie High School. In 1967 he enlisted in the United States Air Force returning home in 1971. He attended MSSC and obtained his bachelor’s degree. While attending college he was employed by Atlas Powder and Sperry Vickers both of Joplin, Missouri as well as working for Sperry Vickers in Brandon, Mississippi. In early 1982 he began his career with Hertz in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. During these years he spent eighteen months in London and Ireland for Hertz. Mark was involved in several organizations and activities, Director of Applications Development, served on IT curriculum board of Cameron University, Hertz IT Intern Program, Hertz Europe Infrastructure Service Center, Dublin, Ireland. Mark had a very successful career with Hertz, retiring in 2012. After retirement he returned to the Ozarks. He became reacquainted with high school sweetheart, Sharon Long and they were united in marriage on November 18, 2014 in Las Vegas, Nevada. They made their home in Ozark, Missouri. Mark enjoyed family, yard and landscaping, traveling, golf and antique street rods.

He is preceded in death by his first wife; Carol Snow; and biological parents; James Lee and Margaret Snow.

Mark is survived by his wife Sharon, of the home; stepchildren; Doug Mitchell and wife Dot of Ft. Smith, Arkansas, Cody Jacobs and wife Cinnamon of Strafford, Missouri, Dustin Jacobs and wife Aubrey of Sparta, Missouri, Stacey Venosdel and husband Darin of Strafford, Missouri and Cassie Carter and husband Joe of Huntsville, Arkansas; father, Richard “Pop” Kinney of Sarcoxie, Missouri; his sisters, Leigh Ann Hartman and husband Scott of Joplin, Missouri, Cary Schorers and husband Mike of Argyle, Texas, Thea Lawrence and husband Bryan of Republic, Missouri and Shelly Kinney and husband Bill of Miami, Oklahoma, brothers; Blaine Nordstrom and wife Janice of Joplin, Missouri, Mike and Dale Kinney both of Sarcoxie, Missouri, grandchildren; Allie, Chance, Ryker, Sophia, Slayde, Rocco, Harper, Eric, Brady amd Brihanna; several nephews and nieces as well as a host of other family and friends.

Funeral services with full military honors for Mr. Snow were held Friday, October 23, 2015 in the chapel of Housh-Goodwin Funeral Home with Brother Blaine Nordstrom officiating. Burial followed in Center Cemetery, west of Sarcoxie, Missouri. Those honoring his life by serving as pallbearers were Scott Hartman, Gan Nunnally, Dennis Carter, Darin Venosdel, Cody Jacobs and Dustin Jacobs. Honorary pallbearers were Gary Fagg, Don Long, Ryker Venosdel, Slayde Jacobs, Brady Grider, Eric Grider, Rocco Jacobs and Joe Carter.
