Betty Lucile Macumber, age 91, Joplin, passed away Thursday, March 30, 2017 at Freeman Hospital.
Betty was born December 19, 1935 in Winterset, to the late Arthur Ruben Strong and Hattie Rhodes Strong.
She married Theodore Guile Macumber on October 22, 1944 in Winterset, Iowa. He preceded her in death on May 3, 1994.
Betty was also preceded in death by one brother, Steve Strong and two sisters, Ethelee Dixon and Bonnie Beattie.
Betty worked in the Madison Iowa County Auditor's Office. She also worked at Look Magazine as a proofreader and at the Winterset School District.
Survivors include two daughters, Patty Leutzinger and husband Jack, of Joplin, Peggy Adam and husband Jim, Seguin, Texas; two granddaughters, Cassie Leutzinger, Braden, Florida, Sarah Westerhouse and husband Bill, Kansas City, Missouri; and several nieces and nephews.
Interment will be at later date in Winterset, Iowa.
Cremation arrangements are under the of Parker Mortuary.
