Jim Scott

James W.(Jim) Scott, was born July 29th, 1931, and passed away Jan.17, 2019 from complications of Parkinson’s Disease. 

Jim was the oldest son of Earl W. And Lucille (Probert) Scott,and lived most of his life in Barton ,Jasper and Dade counties after graduating from Westport High School in Kansas City Mo. in 1949. He then joined the Navy from 1950 through 1954 serving on the USS Corregidor and the USS Merrimac. He was a dairyman, equipment salesman, truck driver, milk hauler, husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather.

Jim married Alene Quade on Jan,28 1955 in Columbus Kansas, they would have been married 64 years this month.

They worked together while raising their 4 sons, went to an incredible number of ball games and other events as they supported them while they grew up and started there own lives and families.
Jim is survived by his wife Alene, his 4 sons, Rusty and his wife Jean, of Springfield Mo, Dan and his wife Lorrie, Max and his wife Michaela, and Bill and his wife Charlotte, all of Golden City. His 2 brothers, Bill (Carol) of Golden City and Bob(Judy) of Lees Summit, Mo. 2 Brother in laws, Don Quade (LaWanda) and Ben Lee ( Mary Lee) of Carthage, 2 Aunts, Wanda Probert and Betty Probert of Golden City and 1 Uncle, Ed Weinstein also of Golden City. 11 Grandchildren and 16 Great Grandchildren and host of cousins.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Monday, January 21, 2019 at Weng Funeral Chapel, Jasper, MO.. The family will receive friends Sunday, January 20, 2019 from 2:00 till 3:00 p.m. at Weng Funeral Chapel. Burial will be in Mitchell Cemetery

The family would like to express Special thanks to Wayne and Karen Gardner for being great friends.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that gifts be made to the Good Endings program at Good Shepherd Nursing Home in Lockwood Mo.
