MIke Carr

Chief Master Sergeant, Mike Carr, United States Air Force Retiree, 70, of San Antonio, Texas formerly of Noel, Missouri, departed this life on Tuesday, January 22, 2019, at Mercy Hospital in Joplin, Missouri, after a sudden illness.

Mike entered this life on July 25, 1948, in Noel, Missouri, son of the late Homer Rudell and Betty Louise (Miles) Carr. He was raised in Noel and was a 1966 graduate of Noel High School. In June of 1967, he enlisted in the United States Air Force, serving in Vietnam and Operation Desert Storm. He retired on September 1, 1995, as Chief Master Sergeant, serving honorably for twenty-eight years, two months and three days. On August 16, 1971, he was united in marriage to Susan Swain and together they have shared the last forty-seven years. He enjoyed raising birds, gardening and fishing. Mike was of the Methodist faith.




Mike is survived by his wife, Susan Carr of the home; two children, Sandra Carr of San Antonio, Texas and Michael Carr and wife, Jessica, of Dallas, Texas; two grandchildren, Megan Rae Carr and Austin Michael Carr; a sister, Patricia Chrisman of Burleson, Texas; as well as a host of other family and friends.

Funeral services for CMSGT Mike Carr will be held graveside with full military honors on Saturday morning, January 26, 2019 at 10:30 a.m. at the Noel Cemetery in Noel, Missouri, with Pastor Marilyn O’Brien officiating. The family will receive friends on Saturday at 9:30 a.m. in the Noel Chapel of the Ozark Funeral Homes. On-line condolences may be sent to the family through our website, www.ozarkfuneralhome.com.
