Sherrie Barber

Mrs. Sherrie Louise Barber, 71, of Anderson, Missouri, departed this life on Thursday, January 17, 2019, in the comfort of her home after a recent decline in health.

Sherrie entered this life on February 24, 1947, in Richland, New York, daughter of the late Ezra and Edith (Britton) Olin. She was raised in Williamstown, New York and was a 1965 graduate of APW High School. On March 11, 1966, she was united in marriage to Wendell Barber and together they shared forty-seven years before his passing on August 23, 2013. They resided in New Mexico before moving to Anderson, Missouri, in 1990. She retired in 2017, from McDonald County Living Center in Anderson, Missouri, after twenty-eight years of dedicated service. She enjoyed crocheting, knitting and loved a good cup of coffee. Sherrie attended the Union Chapel Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her beloved husband and best friend, Wendell Barber; a son, Wendell Barber, II; and a sister, Elizabeth Williams.




Sherrie is survived by her two daughters, Lisa Ann Barber of Atlanta, Georgia and Ranee LeBlanc and husband, Derrick, of Anderson; six grandchildren, Taylor Barber, Amanda Barber, Zachary Barber, Elijah LeBlanc, Jacob Stone and Makayla Stone; a great granddaughter, Kaya Barber; a brother, William Olin of Southwest City, Missouri; as well as a host of other family and friends.

Funeral services for Mrs. Barber are 2:00 p.m. Monday, January 21, 2018, in the Anderson Chapel of the Ozark Funeral Homes with Pastor Mark Sumler officiating. Burial will follow in the Tracy Cemetery in Anderson, Missouri. Those honoring her life by serving as pallbearers are Derrick LeBlanc, Elijah LeBlanc, Jacob Stone, William Olin, Joe Boyer and Josh Polhemus. The family will receive friends on Sunday afternoon from 2-4:00 p.m. in the funeral home chapel. On-line condolences may be sent to the family through our website, www.ozarkfuneralhome.com.
