Sabrina Nigro

Sabrina Lynn Nigro, age 61, Joplin, passed away at 6:50 p.m. Sunday, January 27, 2019 at her home after an illness.

Sabrina was born April 29, 1957 in Hollywood, California to Shirley Huffman Bailey and the late George Bailey.

Sabrina worked in the gaming industry as a table games supervisor since 1978. She started her career at Caesars Resort in Lake Tahoe, Nevada before moving to Kansas City. She worked at Argosy Casino and Resort in Kansas City for several years and moved to the Joplin area when the casinos began operation in Oklahoma. She worked at High Winds Casino, Downstream Casino and Resort and retired from Wyandotte Nation Casino, due to her illness.

Sabrina was a dreamer. She loved animals of all kinds and took in a stray whenever she could. Sabrina loved her family with all her heart and will be missed by everyone that knew her.

She married Anthony Thomas Nigro on April 8, 1985 in Lake Tahoe, Nevada. He preceded her in death on December 8, 2004.






Survivors include her daughter, Torrey Lynn Nigro, of Joplin; her mother, Shirley Mailes, of Joplin; sisters, Kathy Leaming and husband, Robert, of Joplin, Brenda Bostick, of Joplin; niece, Lindsey Hoke and husband, Travis, of Joplin; nephew, Matthew Robertson and wife, Lauren, of Joplin; and a great niece and nephew, Jane Robertson and Wilson Robertson.

Services are planned for Thursday at 2:00 p.m. at Parker Mortuary Chapel. Rev. Roger Flint will officiate. Interment will follow at Osborne Memorial Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Travis Hoke, Matt Robertson, Cole Cook, Steve Huddleston, Billy Kovel, Jimmy Nigro and Robert Leaming. The family will receive friends Wednesday from 6:30-7:30 p.m. at Parker Mortuary.

Arrangements are under the direction of Parker Mortuary.
