Billy Crider

Billy J. Crider, age 90, of Carl Junction, MO, passed away Sunday November 29, 2020, at Freeman Hospital, following an illness.

Billy was born on February 2, 1930 in Wheaton, MO, the son of the late Charles M. and Zelpha R. (Hyden) Crider. He served in the United States Navy. 

He met and married Mary Susan Rice on June 19, 1978 in Las Vegas, NV. Together they raised their blended family of six children.








He worked as a railroad conductor for Kansas City Southern Railway for over twenty years. He also owned and operated B.J. Crider Exterminating. He was a 32nd Degree Mason and a member of the Masonic Lodge #187 AF & AM, the Shriners, and the Scottish Rite.

Billy was preceded in death by his wife Mary Susan Crider in March of 2018; and two brothers, Charles and James Crider.

He is survived by his daughter, Karen R. Cox, Seneca, MO; a son Randy Crider, Seneca, Mo step-daughters, Betsy Churchwell and husband Greg, Carl Junction, MO and Carol Jean Jones, Joplin, MO; step-sons, Freddy Sill and wife Becky, Carl Junction, MO, and Jim Sill, St. Charles, MO; a brother, Leslie R. Crider and wife Katherine, Mt. Vernon, MO; and sister, Mary Elizabeth Hunt, Lenexa, KS; eleven grandchildren and twenty great-grandchildren.

The visitation will be 10:00 a.m. Friday at Mason-Woodard Chapel, prior to the service. Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Friday, December 4th at Mason-Woodard Chapel. Burial will be in Carl Junction Cemetery. For your safety and the safety of the family, the family requests that all in attendance please wear a mask.

The service will be live streamed via the Mason-Woodard website.

Memorial contributions may be given to God’s Resort in care of the mortuary.
