Diane Harrison

Delores “Diane” Harrison, age 56, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, Dec. 8, 2020 at Freeman Hospital in Joplin, Missouri from injuries she sustained in a fall. 

Diane was a loving daughter, sister, aunt and friend. She had a love for life and remained positive until the end, while enduring more than one should in their lifetime. She had such a strong faith in God and leaned on him for strength. She will be remembered for her kind spirit, infectious smile, trips to Walmart and most of all, the love she had for her family.

Diane was born on Jan.28, 1964 in Miami, Oklahoma to Floyd Harrison and Mary (Miller). She lost her father when she was 3 months old. Her mom later married Hershal W. Allman who raised her as his own. 








Diane grew up on a farm in rural Miami, working endless hours driving grain trucks in harvest. She graduated from Commerce High School in 1982, receiving the Masonic Award and prestigious Alexander Award. She attended N.E.O. and Ozark Bible Institute in Neosho, Missouri, where she earned her Bachelor’s Degree. Diane worked at State Farm Insurance regional office in Tulsa, Ok and as a receptionist at Miami Ready Mix and the office of Dr. Mark Osborn. 

In December of 2003 she received a heart transplant at the age of 39. This miracle enabled us to have her for 17 more years.

Diane was proceeded in death by; her father, Floyd Harrison, step father, Hershal W. Allman, maternal grandparents, Denver and Cora “Donaldson” Miller, her paternal grandparents, Charlie and Nora Harrison, grandparents, Orville and Audrey “Smith” Allman and a sister in law, Melony Harrison.

She is survived by her mother and caregiver, Mary Juanita Allman, who stood by her side continually. She is also survived by her 5 siblings; sisters, Mary Jane Barker and husband Rusty, Darlene Cantwell and husband Kevin, of rural Miami, and Vicky Tyndall and husband Mike of Bartlesville, OK, her brothers, Kenny Allman of rural Miami and Doug Harrison and wife Tamra of Yellville, AR.

Diane is also survived by her nieces and nephews who she loved as her own; Jeremy Floyd, Jason Floyd, Kelley Cassell, Lacy Cejda, Bethany Nissen, Tyler Harrison, Ryan Harrison, Kendra Anthony, Kelby Allman, Kody Allman, Kelsey Allman, Kyle Allman, Haley Barker, Hannah Barker, Matt Barker and Kim Evans, as well as 20 great nieces and nephews. Diane also leaves behind her beloved cocker spaniel, “Emmy.”

A Celebration of Life will be held with visitation on Friday, Dec. 11 from 5:00 to 7:00 at Paul Thomas Funeral Home in Miami, OK. Funeral services will be Saturday, Dec. 12 at 10:00 a.m. at North Miami Assembly of God Church. Officiating will be Bob Harrison and Randy Frazier. Burial will be at G.A.R. Cemetery in Miami, OK.
