Vivian Case

Vivian Willadean “Deanie” Case, age 85 of Joplin, MO, passed away at 5:00 AM on Wednesday, February 3, 2021 at Spring River Christian Village of Joplin.

Vivian was born in Duenweg, MO on April 7, 1935 to the union of Clarence Elmer Harper and Vernice Mildred (Gillmore) Harper. 

She graduated from Duenweg High School, and was a lifetime resident of the four-state area, most recently working as a secretary/clerk for Freeman Health System. She attended Tennessee Prairie Friends Church, Galena, KS. She was a devoted daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, and friend.

She was united in marriage with Riley Melvin Case in Duenweg on March 30, 1956. He preceded her in death. 








She was also preceded in death by her parents, Clarence and Vernice; three sisters, Peggy Miksell, Lila Garrett, and infant sister Verna Jean; and one grandson, Weston Case.

She is survived by three children and their spouses, Debbie and Roger Howell, Galena, KS, Susie and Raymond Ervin, Jasper, MO, and Kenney and Brandi Case, Joplin, MO; one special niece, Connie and Steve Mock, Baxter Springs, KS; lifelong friend, Gloria Williams; 8 grandchildren, Rachael, Amy, Kristin, Jeremy, Kyle, Coby, Casey, and Rylee; 11 great-grandchildren and one due in May; one brother and his wife, Galen and Betty Harper, Joplin, MO; and one sister, Roberta Harper, Neosho, MO.

Mrs. Case has been entrusted to Derfelt Funeral Home of Galena for cremation. A Memorial Visitation will be held at Derfelt Funeral Home of Galena on Saturday, February 13, 2021 from 2-3:00 PM.
