(From Parker Mortuary)Billy Lee Massie, 76, of Joplin, Missouri, passed away Wednesday, March 31, 2021, at Spring River Christian Village.
Billy was born July 7, 1944 in Sarcoxie, Missouri to Lee John Harvey Massie and Eva (Gordon) Massie. He lived in the Joplin area most of his life.
Billy worked for many years at Sheltered Workshops in Joplin. He loved people and never knew a stranger. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
Billy was united in marriage to Marcy Lee Johnson on July 7, 1984 in Joplin, Missouri. Together they shared 33 precious years before her passing on January 16, 2018.
Survivors include his sister-in-law; Janet Messner; niece, Misha Johnson; great niece, Ashlyn Griffberg; great-great nephew, Gabriel Sanders; great-great niece, Charlotte Walker; as well as extended family members and friends.
Billy’s final resting place will be at Ozark Memorial Park Cemetery.
Cremation arrangements are under the care and direction of Parker Mortuary.
