Verna Wolf

(From Fohn Funeral Home)

Verna Maria Wolf, of Cassville, went to her Heavenly home on Wednesday, March 31, 2021, at 12:45pm, just about the time she would have started getting dressed for a Wednesday evening church service. She was 83 years old.

Verna Marie was born on January 14,1938, to Fred and Bessie (Means) King in Stilwell, Oklahoma. Eight years later, she became the proud big sister to Hubert King, who survives.

Verna’s childhood consisted of learning to play the piano and taking voice lessons. She proudly claimed the title of Biggest Mouth at singing school.

Verna married the love of her life, Mitchell Wolf, at age 16, on March 21,1954. She stayed by his side throughout their life until he took his last breath on a snowy January day in 2002.

Verna considered being the wife of Mitchell Wolf, an absolute honor. Her devotion and love towards him never wavered. After his passing, she could not wait to stroll over Jordan with her love.

Verna is survived by her two sons Dennis Wolf, and his wife Cindy, of Springfield; Danny Wolf, and his wife Sarah, of Joplin; two daughters, Janice Akin and her husband Gary, of Tahlequah, Oklahoma; and her daughter Freda Wolf, of Purdy. She was proceeded in death by her son Virgil Ray Wolf and granddaughter, Sarah Beth Wolf.

Verna spent time as a realtor and as a production worker but her true calling was spent behind a piano at Blessing Heights Worship Center. Verna loved to play the piano and to sing. She did this best around midnight, no matter if her company was asleep or wide awake. Verna loved to entertain and host her family and friends. She enjoyed staying up late playing Rook with her friends or cooking spaghetti and fried eggs for her grandchildren. Verna had 13 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren that considered grandma’s house their home and made themselves comfortable around GG’s kitchen table.

Verna was a proud member of Blessing Heights Worship Center. Even when she was unable to attend services, her heart always beat for those at Blessing Heights. She leaves behind many cousins and friends that she will be waiting for over in Gloryland.

Funeral services will be conducted by Fohn Funeral Home at Blessing Heights Worship Center on Monday, April 5, 2021, at 10:00AM. She will be laid to rest at Spade Mountain Cemetery in Stilwell, Oklahoma, at 3:30PM. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to Spade Mountain Cemetery Association.
