(From Parker Mortuary)Eden James Lee Melton, age 7, of Joplin, Missouri, departed this life suddenly on Friday afternoon, September 17, 2021, from injuries sustained in an automobile accident.
Eden entered this life on July 30, 2014, in Joplin, Missouri, born to William Melton and Shanna Jones. He was currently in the 2nd grade at McKinley Elementary in Joplin.
He enjoyed swimming, camping, going to band practice with his Dad, playing Fortnite and Minecraft, was good at math and loved being a big brother. He had dreams of one day becoming a Police Officer.
Eden is survived by his loving parents, William Melton and wife, Hayley, of Cassville and Shanna Jones of Joplin; two brothers, Jackson Melton and Kayson Hall (he was so excited to welcome another brother, Oliver Melton, who is set to arrive in October); paternal grandparents, Robert Melton of Goodman, Missouri and Martha Ewers of Darrouzett, Texas; maternal grandparents, Steve Jones and wife, Shelly, of Neosho, Missouri and Mary Polson and husband, Ken, of Baxter Springs, Kansas; maternal great grandparents, Kathy Williams of Lebanon, Missouri and Jim and Elsie Jones of Conway, Missouri; as well as many aunts, uncles and cousins who will dearly miss Eden.
Funeral services are 10:00 a.m. Thursday, September 23, 2021, in the chapel of Parker Mortuary in Joplin with Thomas Seay officiating. Arrangements are under the personal care and direction of Parker Mortuary in Joplin.
