(From Mason-Woodard Mortuary)Marilyn Joy Beaver, age 88 of Joplin, Missouri passed away Saturday, September 25, 2021.
She was born December 27, 1932, in Lakeville, Indiana to Walter and E. Violet (McBride) Barnhart.
Marilyn worked in medical records at St John’s/Mercy Hospital. She served as a dorm mom at Ozark Christian College from 1978-1982, and most recently she helped with activities at Spring River Christian Village.
She married Charles Beaver on August 13, 1950, and he survives. She is also survived by one son, Chuck Beaver Jr, (Sherry); three daughters, Marcia (Doyle) Hoth, Michelle (Barry) Zoeller, and Melanie (Kevin) Klein; 29 grandchildren, 46 great grandchildren and 9 great-great grandchildren, as well as numerous extended family and friends.
She enjoyed playing the piano for church and accompanying her children as they sang, sewing, working in her flower garden, collecting cardinals, and being with her family. She served others unselfishly all her life.
Several of her grandsons are serving as pallbearers, including CD Beaver, Jordan Adkins, Nathan Stang, Kenan Klein, Gabe Quick, and Korey Klein.
Funeral services will be 1:30 pm Wednesday, September 29, 2021, at Mason-Woodard Mortuary with John St Clair officiating. Burial will follow at Ozark Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends for a time of visitation 12:00 (noon) - 1:15 pm prior to the service.
In lieu of flowers, contributions are requested to Spring River Christian Village and may be sent in care of the mortuary.
