(From Clark Funeral Home)Barbara Ann “Barb” Ester, age 75, of Neosho, Missouri, entered into rest at 10:40 p.m. on Monday, September 20, 2021, at Freeman West Hospital in Joplin, Missouri. She was born June 22, 1946, in Stella, Missouri, the daughter of Roy and Oleta (Embry) Peck.
Barb lived in the Newton County community her entire life. She worked for Big Smith and later La-Z-Boy, working as a seamstress and a supervisor, retiring in 1983.
Barb enjoyed researching genealogy and tending to her many plants and flowers. On May 6, 1983, she married Tommy Ester in Miami, Oklahoma. He survives her of the home.
Additional survivors include one daughter, Sandy Martin of Centerton, Arkansas; one son, Bill Adams and his wife, June, of Wheaton, Missouri; two stepdaughters, Sherry Morgan and her husband, Rick, of Stella, and Toni Ester and her husband, Dewey Kimbrough, of Rocky Comfort; one stepson, Bobby Ester and his wife, Rhiannon, of Neosho; three sisters, Mary Snyder of Bath, Pennsylvania, Donna Severs of Granby, and Kay Becknell of Foley, Missouri; one brother, Jim Peck of Joplin; her former husband and the father of her children, Donald Ray Adams; 14 grandchildren; and 24 great-grandchildren.
Her parents, and son, Robert Glen “Bobby” Adams, preceded her in death.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, September 27, 2021, at the Clark funeral home in Neosho, with visitation from 1:00-2:00 p.m., prior to the service. Burial will follow at Dice Cemetery in Fairview, Missouri. In memory of Barb, memorial contributions may be made to the Cornell-Beshore Cancer Institute in c/o Clark Funeral Home, PO Box 66, Neosho, MO 64850.
